Powercrete-DD Kits for Hand Application
Here is a complication it creates: the pipe makes it to the field with Powercrete-DD applied to the line pipe and contractors often question: ok - what do I put on the joints now? There are a lot of specs out there that call for Powercrete-DD on the field joints as well; but those are generally mistakes.
Powercrete-DD is not a stand alone coating. It is an OVERCOAT, meaning it would be applied on top of another coating. I've yet to hear of anyone in the US who is selling Powercrete-DD small kits for coating field joints.
In cases like that, Powercrete J is the preferred field joint coating to use alongside your Powercrete-DD coated pipe. Powercrete J is proven, has many of the same strongest metrics in the most important categories and is relatively easy to apply.
If you're looking for something that is more a fast cure; Powercrete R65/F1 will fit that bill and if you're looking for something that can go on in a thicker coat (high build) then Powercrete R95 might be what you're looking for.
In any case, you spent the money to apply the Powercrete-DD to ~39 feet on every pipe joint. You should make certain your field joints (~2.5% of your pipe coating) get the same high quality corrosion protection.
