     ScarGuard is a composite fiberglass fabric material that has been pre-impregnated with a high performance flexible resin.  This resin is activated by water and offer a very fast cure time once that water has been introduce.  When fully installed (and cured) ScarGuard offers a pipeline excellent abrasion resistance on top of factory or field applied coatings.  Many end users are requesting their entire line be coated with ScarGuard prior to directional drilling and road bore applications.

     It is important to note:  ScarGuard is not a stand alone "coating" it is simply added physical protection for plant and field applied coatings of all varieties.  

     ScarGuard is excellent at protecting your pipe from gouges and other coating damage during a pull through.  The material is very tough and has excellent abrasion resistance.

     A few examples of applications which may be perfect for Powercrete Powershield-XT:

• Soil to air transition of pipelines:  rigid mechanical protection of corrosion preventing coating systems on risers against soil shear, mechanical impact and indentations.
• Field Applied Coatings:  Rigid mechanical protection of corrosion preventing coating systems on pipeline girth welds against soil shear, abrasion, mechanical impact and indentations such as an aggressive backfill and directional drilling operations.
• Pipe Saddles:  Mechanical protection of your corrosion prevention system on pipe saddles is improved dramatically when wrapped with Powershield
• Pipe and Fittings:  Add extra physical protection to abnormally shaped objects like bends, tees, valves and flanges for added protection against soil shear, abrasion and impacts.
