     Field joint coatings are often the single most likely to be forgotten item on a pipeline project.  I can't even tell you how many phone calls we get every month from someone in the field who needs shrink sleeves on site within 24 hours.  That's ok though; we have built our business to be able to help our customers out in such circumstances. 

     Here at JSI, we stock eleven different field joint coating materials (mostly Covalence heat shrink sleeves).  We have coating in stock for just about any common or not so common pipeline application.  High temp?  Yes.  Ambient temp?  Yes.  High shrink?  Yes.  Three layer?  Yes.  Spiral wrapped?  Yes.  Road bores?  Yes.  Multiple widths?  Yes.  If you need it, we've almost certainly got it. 

     Beyond that, we generally keep around 1000 cut pieces on the shelf and in stock for the most commonly sold products in the most commonly sold sizes.  Believe me, the last thing we want is for your job to be shut down because you can't find anyone who has shrink sleeves ready for immediate shipment.  We've been in business for 20 years now refining our inventory practices, improving our production practices and committing to the high expense of inventory in order to service our customers. 

     Coatings are absolutely no good if you're going to have to wait a week for them to ship out!  That just doesn't help at all!  Beyond all of that though, we don't ever require any kind of an 'expedited' charge for shipping material quickly.  Never.  We offer great service, fast turnarounds and excellent pricing for all of our material; whether you need to pick it up today; or whether we have 3 weeks to get it ready to ship.

     It is incredibly common that we hear a bit of desperation in our customers voices when they call for a quote.  Maybe they've had trouble finding us.  Maybe they are uncomfortable because they are dealing with a product they don't know very much...or maybe they are in a PANIC because the project has started and they literally need shrink sleeves on site within 24 hours.

     We've heard it all, so don't feel bad!  We know the purchase of a field joint coating is very often the final detail considered.  Don't worry; we've got you covered.  We've been doing this for a long, long time.  We've paid close attention to the products that our customers have needed dating back to the 1980's.  We've kept a close eye on the who, what, where, when and why of the shrink sleeve world and we have crafted inventory levels that are specifically designed to meet your needs.  It is a rare occasion that we aren't able to ship a pipeline coating within 2-24 hours. 

     Looking back just at the last decade; I can say with complete honesty:  95% of the orders placed with us ship out same day.  We've got the speed of a McDonalds...combined with the product quality of a Lexus.

2. What is the factor applied coating on your pipeline?
3. What is the design temperature of your pipeline?
4. What is the application?  Simple buried?  Road bore?  Offshore?  SLay?

     You have that info ready; and I can almost always have you a quote within 5 minutes...and material out my door with in 24 hours. 

     It is always uncomfortable dealing with products you aren't familiar with.  But that is the beauty of Joint Specialists.  You don't have to be an expert -- we handle that side of it for you.  At the time though; if you DO want to be an expert; give us a bit of your time and we will train you up to be one.  After all - we're all in this together.

Same Day Shipping for Raychem and Covalence

     Here is one I get on a weekly basis:  HELP!  We forgot to order the shrink sleeves and we now have pipe welded and ready to to -- but no shrink sleeves at the job site!  Can you help us?

     We've been doing this a long time.  We started as a direct field office for Raychem Corporation and since the mid 1990's, we've been Joint Specialists.  We do not have any fantasies about the place of field joint coatings in the oil and gas pipeline world.  We know that we are almost always the last detail to be considered (even though we are incredibly, critically important to the life of your pipeline).  So, we are used to being an afterthought and it is for just that reason that we utilize our 30+ years of experience to make sure that we keep just about anything you could possibly need sitting on the shelf; ready to go.

     I'd say that 90% of orders placed with us ship same day.  Another 8% ship one day after order receipt (most of the time this is because the order was placed after 4pm and we just can't get a truck here in time).  It is only about 2% of orders placed with us that don't ship right away.  So, if you've got an emergency; you've found the right people.  Give us a call and let us get to work...so that you can get to work.
